In order to guarantee the availability of the system, both at high load as well as during the outage of a server, the setup of the OSGD systems will be redundant. For stability reasons, each system is self-sufficient and the user can respectively select the usage of system 1 or 2. The user has to know the various access points and in the event of an outage, be in the position to access the second server.
To facilitate this, Visulox offers the function Virtual Interface that is installed as an additional service on the OSGD systems. The Virtual Interface monitors the OSGD services and servers within the network and provides a common URL. Behind this URL is a Software-load-balancer that routes the request of the user to the OSGD server with the least amout of load. In case of an outage or overload of the currently used server, the common URL automatically migrates to another server. The prerequisite is that the involved servers are in the same subnet.
The function Virtual Interface is available for both OSGD as well as for OSGD Gateway in Visulox.
