Through OSGD, Workstation and Data Center are separated both logically and physically in separate security zones. A file transfer can thus be suppressed Independently of the two-zone or three zone concept. File transfer rights are assigned to the application over OSGD for pUsers that have to make the file transfers. The desired files can be transferred from the workstation to the file transfer inspection area and subsequently made available in the target system in the data center via HTTPS (upload). By using this method, transfer logs are stored including who stored what file where and when. Of course all downloads are extensively logged too.

Each file transfer to the inspection area is checked against a policy stored in the system. Criteria are source, target, content and file size.
 Two different, combined operation modes are available for the communication to the inspection zone and Data Center.

• Either manually controlled by the pUser using HTTPS / SFTP / FTP or SSH Key.
• Or automatically controlled through the synchronization with the home directory.
